Fluent Europe Training - Spray and Particle Modelling
The length of the course is one day. Training is from 9.15am to 5.00pm. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Prerequisites
The course assumes you have previous experience of using FLUENT 6 and a general appreciation of sprays and particles
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course you should be able to:
- Appreciate the issues involved in spray modelling
- Set up simulations using the Discrete Phase Model of FLUENT
Course Agenda
Lectures:
- Introduction and definitions
- Numerics of the Discrete Phase Model in FLUENT
- Outline of different nozzle types
- Drag laws for particles and drops
- Breakup models for jets
- Collisions of drops with other drops and walls
- Heat and mass transfer to drops, including multicomponent evaporation.
Case Study and Hands-On:
- Evaporating diesel injection
- Non-evaporating spray onto a cylinder
