Fluent Europe Training - Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) Modelling
The length of the course is one day. Training is from 9.15am to 5.00pm. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Prerequisites
The course assumes you have previous experience of using FLUENT 6. Previous experience of Ansys, Abaqus, or another structural-FE code, would be an advantage.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course you should be able to:
- Understand how to set up the structural, and CFD input files such that a coupled FSI solution can be performed
- Set up a coupled solution using the third-party 'MpCCI' software, which can be used to link most major CFD and structural-FE codes.
- Perform a coupled FSI simulation, simultaneously running both Fluent and a structural-FE code, through MpCCI.
Course Agenda
Lectures:
- Introduction to FSI Simulation
- Setting up a FSI Simulation
- General Concepts of FSI
- Running FSI without the MpCCI GUI
Hands-On:
- Appropriate tutorials will be selected to give trainees hands-on experience of relevant problems, for both thermal stress analysis, and for structural deformation analysis.
