Technology innovation and process stabilization for production of bi-component/co-spun/conjugate fibers are extremely challenging. Use of CFD provides detailed information on the influence of all associated fluid and process parameters. The figure shows one channel in the bi-component fiber spinneret. The red and blue represent the two polymers and the green represents the interface between the two. The real life photograph shows validity of the CFD results.
