Using Fluent's computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software, you can optimize equipment performance while minimizing prototyping and reducing design time and expense. A vertical canned turbine pump was simulated using FLUENT to evaluate the effects of different inlet pipe configurations on flow patterns into the bell. Flow modeling helped guide engineers to reduce flow rotation within the pump and to eliminate the formation of vortices entering the bell.
