To better understand performance of an Electrolux lawn mower, FLUENT CFD was used. This simulation shows velocity and turbulent kinetic energy around rotors and blades in a lawn mower housing. Through an iterative process, Electrolux has been able to minimize recirculation and reverse flow zones from several mower designs. The results, according to experimental test results, are a substantial improvement in the quality of cut compared to previous designs.
