MixSim®: Flow Modeling for Mixing Vessels
MixSim® is a comprehensive analysis tool for complete hydrodynamic simulation of agitated mixing vessels. MixSim is designed to bring to engineers a power tool through its easy to use and intuitive interface at no or minimal learning curve. As an application specific tool, it is optimized to help set up complex mixing tanks simulations from geometry description, meshing and solution set up in matter of few minutes. Therefore, it has the flexibility to set up many tank bottom shapes, impeller types, heating coils and plates, baffle shapes without the need to go through any CAD or manual geometry creation steps.
The various steps required to perform a simulation of the mixing vessel are integrated so the users can easily use the software. The steps required to perform a mixing simulation are familiar to the typical process engineer, thereby eliminating the need to be a CAD package expert. In addition, MixSim GUI accesses many proven and well established features of FLUENT computational fluid dynamic solvers, reducing the need to learn a full function CFD program. Examples include access to various turbulence modeling features, non-Newtonian viscosity models such as power law and Carreau. All of the tools typically needed in a general purpose CFD package including simulation procedure and solver controls needed for a complete modeling solution have been tied together in a single user-friendly environment. The user has access to accurate physical models, as well as automatic preprocessing and powerful graphical visualization tools.
