A new set of benchmark cases covering a large range of
problem sizes, physical models and solvers representing typical
industry usage is defined to comprise the updated FLUENT benchmarks
suite. The cases range in size from a few 100 thousand cells to more
than 100 million cells. Both the segregated and coupled implicit
solvers are involved, as well as hexahedral, mixed and polyhedral cell
cases. This broad coverage is expected to demonstrate the breadth of
FLUENT performance on a variety of hardware platforms and test cases.
The performance of a CFD code will depend on several
factors, including size and topology of the mesh, physical
models, numerics and parallelization, compilers and optimization, in
addition to performance characteristics of the hardware where the
simulation is performed. The principal objective of this benchmark
suite is to provide comprehensive and fair comparative information of
the performance of FLUENT on available hardware platforms.
FLUENT performance data on current, older and prototype
releases of the code is accessible from this page. Please follow the
appropriate link on the right for benchmark information on various
platforms.
Note that the posted prototype versions are not tested
and validated by Fluent Inc.. Such extensions may become part of future
FLUENT releases, but there is no guarantee.
