For solution speed and efficiency, FIDAP offers two solver choices. For small to moderate-sized problems, the fully-coupled solver offers an unparalleled rate of convergence by solving for all unknowns simultaneously. For larger problems where it is more efficient to solve for each field variable individually (using either direct or iterative methods) FIDAP offers a segregated solver. FIDAP also provides accurate solutions for time-dependent problems. High-order time stepping schemes are used. The time step size is automatically fine-tuned to limit truncation errors to a level specified by you.
