Esteco is the company which develops and markets the multi-disciplinary, multi-objective optimization software, modeFRONTIER.

Apart from being a state-of-the-art optimization program, modeFRONTIER also provides the user with a process integration environment, enabling the coupling of diverse CAE tools such as CAD programs, mesh generators, and analysis software. Direct interfaces to many CAE programs make the integration process even more straight-forward.

With modeFRONTIER’s intuitive and user-friendly GUI, the workflow is created, coupling the software involved in the process (e.g. CATIA, GAMBIT and FLUENT), specifying the variable parameters, as well as the objectives (e.g. minimization of pressure loss, maximization of flow uniformity, etc). modeFRONTIER will then drive the process, modifying the input variables in an efficient search for the best combination of inputs to achieve the design goals.

The software features an extensive array of Design of Experiments (DoE) techniques, optimization algorithms including Game Strategies, Genetic Algorithms, Simulated Annealing, etc, as well as several post-processing tools for statistical analysis of results and effects, and algorithms to assist in multi-criteria decision making.

modeFRONTIER, written entirely in Java, runs on both homogeneous and heterogeneous networks, and truly allows a company to explore new frontiers of design innovation.
