Chimera Technologies specializes in CFD-based particle dynamics model development and consulting. Typical applications include particle transport in buildings and particle formation in engines, chemical reactors and coal-fired boilers.

Chimera Technologies is partnering with Fluent to develop a Fine-Particle Model (FPM), which permits UDF-based particle dynamics simulations in FLUENT v6. The FPM is a Eulerian model, and is primarily intended for situations where simultaneous particle formation, growth, particle-particle interactions (e.g. coagulation), and deposition (e.g. thermophoresis) occur. When combined with simulations of chemical reactions, the FPM permits the description of particle formation and/or growth from gaseous precursors.
