Tech Soft America and Fluent Inc. Announce Licensing of the Parasolid® Kernel Modeler for GAMBIT T

CFD Preprocessor Application Poised to Read and Write Popular Parasolid XT File Format

Lebanon, New Hampshire, May 17, 2000 -- Fluent Inc., world leader in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software, today announced that it has licensed Unigraphics Solutions' Parasolid Kernel Modeler from reseller Tech Soft America. Fluent will include the Parasolid Kernel Modeler in its popular GAMBIT software. Fluent's GAMBIT software provides leading-edge geometry modeling and mesh generation for all of Fluent's industry leading CFD solvers. The addition of the kernel modeler improves the integration of Fluent's CFD flow modeling software products with CAD (computer aided design) and other CAE (computer aided engineering) programs, improving design integration as a whole.

Fluent's GAMBIT Product Manager Scott Gilmore explains, "Fluent is committed to helping our customers access a wide range of CAD data for use within our advanced analysis applications. The Parasolid Modeling Kernel is the core geometric engine in leading CAD applications used by many of our clients, including Unigraphics, Solid Edge, and SolidWorks. With support for their Parasolid XT geometry files in GAMBIT 1.3, we are providing a convenient, robust path from CAD to CFD analysis," Gilmore concludes.
