Application Highlights from the Worldwide Users' Group Meetings

First Automotive Users' Conference

During July, Fluent held the first automotive industry users' group meeting. Held in the Detroit area -- "Motor City, USA" -- the meeting gave Fluent users in the automotive industry a focused look at Fluent's new 1998 products and a chance to hear presentations on automotive applications of CFD. The meeting was attended by approximately 120 current and prospective users from automotive companies in the midwestern US and Canada. Fluent was represented by staff members from its Detroit-area office, from corporate headquarters, and from European operations.

The meeting began with presentations by Fluent, highlighting the company's success and commitment to CFD for automotive applications. Guest speaker Bobby Rahal, owner and driver for Team Rahal, described how Fluent's sponsorship of his CART racing circuit team has contributed to wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Indianapolis 500, and three CART championships. Presentations by users included an overview of the use ofCFD by one of the major US automotive manufacturers.

Plans for 1999 include expansion of the meeting to two days with increased international participation. Look for announcements coming early next year.
