As part of the testing cycle for FLUENT 6.2, a new and improved beta testing program was launched. FLUENT 6.2 first became available to beta testers in April 2004. Signing up for the beta program was simple - users visited the beta website, read and acknowledged a short agreement, and filled out a brief questionnaire. After signing up, users were free to download the beta version for the platforms of their choice and access draft versions of the FLUENT 6.2 User's Guide. Updates to the beta software were provided every few months as more functionality passed our internal testing. Registered beta users were notified of the updates and invited to download the latest version.
Users provided feedback to us by filling out and submitting a web-based form. All users who submitted feedback by October 1, 2004 were given a FLUENT 6.2 beta user t-shirt featuring the image shown above.
The beta program was very successful. A great deal of useful feedback was collected and addressed before the final release of FLUENT 6.2. Some feedback was retained for consideration in future releases. Over 900 users from more than 600 companies downloaded the FLUENT 6.2 beta - 145 feedback reports were submitted.
To all participants in the beta program, we extend a big thank you! We truly appreciate the time and effort spent to help make FLUENT 6.2 a better product.
