Dr. Wang Xiao, Technical Manager at Fluent Asia Pacific, joined the company in early 1999. His extensive CFD background in aerospace and turbulence modeling stretches back to 1982, with experience in both China and Japan. Today, he oversees five technical support teams at Fluent Asia Pacific's Tokyo office. He characterizes their primary objectives: "Japanese engineers are very demanding and expect frequent communication with and advice from their CFD support engineers. Not only do we provide this level of contact with our clients, we also continually review and improve upon our performance by gathering information from annual user surveys, UGM surveys, and face to face meetings. Our technical teams concentrate on specific industry sectors. In this way, each team possesses expert technical knowledge to meet the needs of the clients that they serve."

He adds, “Our close links with the worldwide Fluent organization have allowed us to instigate development efforts in application areas such as fuel cells, magnetohydrodynamics (MHD), and discrete element modeling (DEM) to produce auxiliary modules that are used with FLUENT. We work closely with our technical colleagues in the global Fluent organization to bring the best CFD know-how to bear on our clients' projects. Our belief is that no other CFD company is able to leverage a global technical network of expertise in this manner. Our growth over the last five years has allowed us to provide a wide range of training, consulting, and CFD benchmarking projects, as well as hotline technical support. We train our clients carefully, even if they have little or no knowledge of CFD when they first approach us. In short, we aim to provide the highest quality of CFD technical services in Japan today."
