David Street, Director of Marketing Fluent Asia Pacific

Having lived in Japan for over 12 years, Dr. David Street has learned the language and became part of the local culture. He joined Fluent Asia Pacific’s marketing department in 1999, bringing with him unique insights gained from several years of experience working as a chemical engineer for Japanese companies in the process engineering and semiconductor industries.

He claims, "Anyone who has ever spent any time in Japan is always impressed by the Japanese engineering and business culture. Despite the current economic downturn, the same factors that helped Japan develop as a leading economy two decades ago are still as important today. Some of these factors include a loyal and a highly motivated workforce, a long-term view, and investment in the latest and best technology." He goes on to say, “CFD is now seen as an indispensable tool to help engineers lower costs, improve quality, troubleshoot problems, and reduce turnaround time in product design and development. In addition to the many big companies that are using CFD, we are now seeing medium-sized and even some smaller companies benefiting from our products. Our technology has proven itself in the tough environment of industry, and the challenge for us now is to help our clients deploy more CFD throughout their organizations."

To help make this happen, Fluent Asia Pacific offers a number of CFD courses for its clients, with programs for beginners through expert users. Custom-built training facilities are available in both the Tokyo and Osaka offices. According to Dr. Street, "Not everyone in Japan is comfortable working in the English language, so we provide training and marketing materials in Japanese as well. Although Fluent is a global company, we operate very much at the local level."
