In late September, Dassault Systèmes and Fluent announced a strategic partnership to deliver fluid flow modeling solutions within the Dassault Systèmes Component Application Architechture (CAA) environment. Fluent is now a Dassault Systèmes strategic partner within the Software Community Program, with plans to tightly integrate our CFD technologies with the modeling power of CATIA V5.

Initial product plans include Fluent/FloWizard for CATIA, a CAA V5-based fluid flow simulation capability for design engineers. The new product will enable users to fully prepare their CFD analysis models within the CATIA environment, ensuring ease-of-use and therefore, a fast learning curve for designers working within CATIA. The product will also maintain associativity between design and analysis models, thereby reducing the time required for analysis of design iterations and allowing CFD to be applied more readily to product optimization. The new Fluent/FloWizard for CATIA software will use the industry-standard FLUENT 6.x CFD solver, thus providing access to Fluent’s wide range of modeling capabilities, while allowing users to perform on-going CFD simulations earlier in the product lifecycle.
