Fluent continues the development of its MixSim software, used for the
analysis of mixing applications. For years, MixSim has provided engineers
in the process industry with an easy-to-use tool for the setup, solution,
and analysis of stirred tank flows. Using GAMBIT for unstructured grid
generation and FLUENT 6.0 for the solver, the new version of MixSim will
expand the current capabilities of MixSim 1.7 to handle very complex mixing
tank geometries and vessel internals. At the heart of MixSim 2.0 is a
single, easy-to-use interface that is used for problem setup through solution
analysis. Using process terminology, the interface allows users to add
or remove components and display them individually or in total. The choice
of tank shapes, impellers, and other internals is almost unlimited; any
object not standard in MixSim 2.0 can be added easily through separate
object files. The new version will give MixSim users functionality that
is unparalleled in today's market of mixing process software.
