G/Turbo Product Report

A prerelease version of G/Turbo, Fluent's new turbomachinery preprocessor, was shipped to beta users in March. The beta testing program supplements the rigorous testing at Fluent to provide helpful feedback from clients. In particular, users comment on the ease-of-use, and look-and-feel of the product. The response has been very encouraging, highlighted in part by reports of a fast learning curve.

On the development side, great strides have been made with the product. All of the import, geometry construction, and rapid linking and boundary zoning tools have been implemented. Additional work with 3D boundary layers and automatic decomposition templates are nearing completion. Integration of the ACIS 6.3 solid model kernel, which provides robustness and speed improvements for the soon-to-be-released GAMBIT 2.0, is also anticipated.

With development and testing proceeding at full speed, the product is on target to be released shortly after the U.S. Users' Group Meeting in June 2001.
