Team Rahal in action at the Detroit Grand Prix with superimposed streamlinesOnce again in 2000, the CART FedEx Championship Series proved to be one of the most competitive racing series in the world for Team Rahal, with a record number of drivers (11) winning races and five drivers entering the final event in contention for the championship. Team Rahal is one of the elite teams in this series and they believe part of their success is based on the team's strong partnership with Fluent Inc. and it's automotive business team based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The engineers at Team Rahal use Fluent's software and services to help improve the aerodynamic performance of their cars and give them an extra edge over the competition. The software gives the team the kind of extensive flowfield information that can be very time consuming and costly to generate in a wind tunnel. The 2000 season proved to be another successful campaign for Team Rahal. Miller Lite driver Max Papis captured his first CART victory in the season opening event at Miami and Shell driver Kenny Brack captured CART Rookie of the Year honors while finishing fourth in championship points. Team Rahal posted 23 top-ten results, 13 top-five finishes, and six podium appearances. |
