The next GAMBIT release, scheduled for Quarter 1, 2001, will have numerous
enhancements. Here is just a small sample of what you can expect:
-
The solid modeling geometry kernel, IGES interface, and STEP interface
have been upgraded to provide improved access to your CAD models.
-
Surface meshes and boundary layers are now smoother and of higher
quality, even on highly twisted surfaces.
-
A new meshing tool combines the efficiency of Cartesian hexahedral
meshes with the geometric flexibility and automation of unstructured
tetrahedral meshes.
-
Support for our market leading FLUENT solver has been improved with
faster and leaner mesh export.
-
GAMBIT's powerful command language has been extended with several
new query functions, plus new capabilities that allow you to create
your own buttons and forms to conveniently automate your parametric
studies.
In addition, a new module for automated turbomachinery blade row modeling
will become available in early 2001 (see p. S8 of
the FOCUS ON CFD in the Turbomachinery Industries supplement). More details
will be available on the GAMBIT area of our User Services Center as these
releases near.
